About TDEE

Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the total number of calories your body burns in a day, combining your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) with energy used for physical activity. BMR is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, one of the most accurate formulas available.

Did You Know?

  • Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than fat tissue, so body composition affects your TDEE.
  • Even small daily activities like standing or fidgeting can add up to 300–500 extra kcal burned per day.
  • The Mifflin-St Jeor equation, developed in 1990, is considered more accurate than the older Harris-Benedict formula.
